Canons Ashby, Northamptonshire

Please join us on Tuesday 6th May 2025 for a visit to Canons AshbyLink opens in a new window, a Tudor manor house built on the remains of a medieval site.

On our first field trip of 2025 we will explore the house and grounds of Canons Ashby. During two guided tours, we will learn about their long history and come face to face with art, objects, and architecture from the 13th-18th centuries (e.g. paintings, painted panelling, embroidered waistcoats, and a rich collection of early modern books).

There are no costs involved for this outing, but you do need to bring your own lunch or be prepared to buy something at the venue (probably quite expensive 🧐🙃).

10:30 Leave Warwick campus by coach (Car Park 2Link opens in a new window, near Bluebell, central campus)

11:30-12:30 House tour (incl. objects and rooms not usually on view)

12:30-13:30 Lunch

13:30-14:30 Grounds tour (priory church and stew ponds)

15:00 Return to campus
