- Course overview and expectations; useful tools.
- Rules of Latin pronunciation: consonants, vowels and quantity, stress.
- Parts of speech and their general features.
- Noun and adjective: case, gender and number, declensions.
- Verb: mood and tense, active and passive, conjugations.
- Word order and sentence structure.
Session 2 (13th May 2025, 17:00-18:30 UK time)
- First two declensions.
- The paradigm of a verb and how to use it.

Regular and irregular verbs.

Present, past and future of the indicative: general features and function.
- Work on short sentences: recognize subject and object; identify the case.
Session 3 (14th May 2025,17:00-18:30 UK time)
- Prepositions: how they work, what they express.
- How to express time and space, cause and purpose.
- Prepositions as prefixes in verbs (compound verbs).

Third declension: general features and how to find the nominative.

Subjunctive and its function.

Work on short sentences.
Session 4 (15th May 2025,17:00-18:30 UK time)
- Fourth and fifth declensions.
- Latin apophony: how it helps with compound verbs and third declension.
- Coordinate and subordinate clause; conjunctions.

Subordinate clauses: how to express time, purpose, cause, result; use of cum; relatives.
- Work on short texts: how to identify a main, a coordinate and a subordinate clause.
Session 5 (16th May 2025,17:00-18:30 UK time)

Vocative and imperative.

- Verbs: infinite and participle.
