The Centre for the Study of the Renaissance (CSR) at the University of Warwick is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from highly qualified researchers in the field who seek to apply for a British Academy International Fellowship, tenable in the Centre. The CSR is a buoyant hub of interdisciplinary research, with a well-established international reputation. Specialisms range from the Middle Ages to the seventeenth century, in particular covering Italy, France, Spain, England, the Holy Roman Empire, and their territories.

Particular strengths of CSR members include literature, intellectual history, social and cultural history, history of the book, history of religion, history of science and medicine, history of art, history of universities, epistolary networks, history of translation, the relationships between Neo-Latin and the vernaculars, and the classical tradition. • a short description of their proposed project (maximum 2 A4 pages)
• a copy of their CV (maximum 2 A4 pages), with indication of numbers of words for items in press

Purpose of the scheme: The International Fellowships Programme 'provides support for outstanding early career researchers to make a first step towards developing an independent research career through gaining experience across international borders. Each award is expected to involve a specific and protected research focus with the award holder undertaking high quality, original research.' The fellowships enable researchers to work for two years at a UK research institution.

Eligibility: Applicants must have a PhD or be in the final stages of their PhD and should have no more than seven years of active full-time postdoctoral experience at the time of application. Additionally, applicants must be working outside the UK and not hold UK citizenship. For further information and a full list of eligibility criteria, please refer to the scheme notes.
