Shortlist for the Society of Architectural Historian's of Great Britain's Alice Davies Hitchcock Award announced

The Alice Davis Hitchcock Medallion is awarded to a monograph that makes an outstanding contribution to the study of architectural history – previous winners include Howard Colvin, Dorothy Stroud, John Summerson, Nikolaus Pevsner, Hermione Hobhouse and Jill Lever. The Colvin Prize, established in 2017, is awarded to an outstanding work of reference of value to the discipline irrespective of format.

This year, both Professor Emeritus Louise Campbell's Studio Lives: Architect, Art and Artist in 20th-Century Britain (Lund Humphries), and Assistant Professor Otto Saumarez Smith's Boom Cities: Architect Planners and the Politics of Radical Urban Renewal in 1960s Britain (Oxford University Press) have been nominated (out of a shortlist of five books). A very strong showing for our department!
