Research seminar series
During the Spring Term the Centre was pleased to welcome speakers including David Hesmondhalgh, Professor Jonothan Neelands and Dr. Joe Winston as part of the Centre for Cultural Policy Studies Seminar Series. The seminars aim to engage with a range of critical speakers whose ideas confront issues relevant for the study and research of cultural policy. The seminar series is organised by the Centre's research students.
Details of future seminars will be updated here, however please contact us if you would like to be added to our mailing list by emailing P.Watkins@warwick.ac.uk.
Centre graduate wins bursary in BBC Talent Urban Music Awards
Lisa Telfer, who has just graduated from the MA in Creative and Media Enterprises, has been awarded a £7,500 bursary to further her talents in PR and event management in the UK's urban music scene. Lisa beat off stiff competition along the way with the support of her local urban music record store, 2Funky Records, in Leicester where she is based. As well as participating in a three day residency of workshops the bursary will also give her the chance to benefit from mentoring by industry professionals and broaden her network of contacts. Listen to Lisa's report on the BBC website.
Launch of fees only scholarships
Brand new for 2007 the Centre for Cultural Policy Studies will offer one scholarship for each of its three MA courses to a UK/EU candidate in 2007-08, equivalent in value to the total course fee payable. All successful UK/EU applicants, unless they are already in receipt of a full scholarship (i.e. fees + maintenance), will automatically be considered for the CCPS scholarship. More information about the study opportunities at the Centre for Cultural Policy Studies can be found here.
