Sophia PardonCourse: BA Theatre and Performance Studies

Graduated: 2016

Job Title/ Company: Theatre Designer

Date of Case Study: July 2020

Biography: After graduating from Warwick, I completed an MA in Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Arts in order to refine my practical skills needed for working in Theatre Design. After Wimbledon, I then began my freelance career as a set, costume and puppet designer. In my three years, I have worked on over thirty productions at a range of venues. My previous productions include Once on This Island (Arts Ed), Theatrical Niche's A Doll's House (UK Tour), Love and Information (Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts), Aladdin (Sutton Coldfield Townhall), GORGON: A Horror Story (VAULTS Festival), Faustus (Queen Elizabeth Hall), Neck or Nothing (Pleasance), A Christmas Carol (The Barn Theatre), The Little Prince (Omnibus Theatre). I am also the current Season Designer for Iris Theatre at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden. I love to take on a variety of productions, but am most drawn to storytelling, fantasy and working with multi-rolling ensembles. I love to fuse abstract elements with the very real, in order to tell important stories. You can find out more about my work here: www.sophiapardondesigns.com
