- Fahy, Katie
Course: English and Theatre Studies
Year: 2010
Job Title/ Company: Specialist speech and language therapist
Date this Case Study is being completed: 20/03/2025
After graduating in 2010 I went on to train as a speech and language therapist (SLT). Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of roles in and out of the NHS, working with adults with communication and swallowing needs. My previous roles include working on general medical inpatient wards and in brain injury neurorehabilitation. In my current role I’m a specialist SLT in oncology & haematology, working with people with difficulties eating, drinking, and communicating as a result of cancer or its treatment. It’s a privilege to work collaboratively with people on the things that are most important to them, and support them through their oncology treatment. One of my current special interests is intensive swallow rehabilitation after head & neck cancer.Looking back to my three happy years at Warwick, zipping between the arts centre and the library, I don’t think I would have imagined this was the career ahead of me; but the confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills I learned during my degree continue to underpin my work today

Graduated: 2016
Job Title/ Company: Events Manager - Feast It
Date of Case Study: July 2020
Biography: Upon leaving university, I decided to embark on a career in events. This led me to begin working for a renowned communications agency in London - Premier Public Relations where I helped to organise film premieres, press screenings and red carpet events throughout London and the UK. Leveraging these skills I moved into a talent management role at a leading TV agency, helping to manage the professional lives of some of the UK’s biggest on-screen talent. This ultimately led me back to events, working as a freelancer for Warner Bros creating bespoke publicity events and stunts for upcoming film releases including premieres, activations and talent dinners. After my contract with Warner Bros, I began working for Feast It, the UK’s leading event planning platform, where you can discover and book the country’s best event suppliers which is where I am currently working as an Event Manager on their large public events.
