We are delighted to announce the arrival in the School of Professor Andy Lavender who joins us from the University of Surrey where he was Head of the School of Arts for five years. Andy’s most recent book is Performance in the Twenty-First Century: Theatres of Engagement (2016) and he will be teaching a 30 CAT 2^nd year module next academic year on Tragedy in Performance: Conventions, Discourses, Dramaturgies. He also has a strong interest in practice as research and the use of digital technologies in multimedia performance.

From 1^st August 2017 Andy will take over from Nicolas Whybrow as Head of the School of Theatre & Performance and Cultural & Media Policy Studies.
