Delegate Information and FAQS
I'm new to TaPRA. How does TaPRA work?
TaPRA is made up of 13 working groups. When you apply to present at the conference, you will apply to one of these working groups. Each working group has a distinct Call for Papers but the deadlines are the same. If you take a look at the programme, you will see that the majority of time is given over to the working groups.
Although working groups like their presenters to stay with them throughout the three days, to have a developing conversation, any delegate is able to attend any of the other working group sessions. If you are not presenting a paper and plan to join a working group for the duration, it is advised that you email the relevant working group convenors in advance of attendance, only so that you can be added to any pre-conference mailings.
Besides working group activities, the conference is made up of plenaries and open panels. Plenaries are sessions where all delegates are together in one room and these are either sessions arranged by TaPRA (such as panels from the previous year's prizewinners) or by the host institution. Open panels are sessions where only half of the working groups meet. This allows working group members to see what is happening in other working groups. Open panels sometimes also include a number of curated panels.
If you have any questions about how TaPRA works, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
How can I get in touch with the organisers?
Please use TaPRA2025@warwick.ac.uk and we will be back in touch as soon as possible.
What is Sched?
Sched is the platform we are using to host a more sophisticated version of the conference programme. It includes abstracts and speaker bios where our online programmeLink opens in a new window does not. Sched also has some great functionality: the search tool means you can search for relevant terms and speakers, and you can curate your own programme by selecting those papers and sessions that most interest you. If you registered for the conference, you should have received a link from Sched to set up your profile. You can find our event on Sched here.

Is there a quiet space that I can work in during the conference or a quiet space to relax in?
A quiet room for relaxation during the conference can be found in FAB 4.74 - in the Faculty of Arts Building. You can locate this room on the interactive campus map hereLink opens in a new window.
There are many quiet spaces for work. The Faculty of Arts Building and Oculus both have seating in their foyer areas, as does Warwick Arts Centre (if you go to the first floor and follow signs to the Cinema, there's a wonderful nook there).
Delegates can also access the University Library as a guest. Find out more about this at the bottom of this page - here.
Do the conference buildings have step-free access?
The Faculty of Arts Building, Oculus and Warwick Arts Centre, where the conference is being held, each have multiple floors. There are lifts to all of these floors. Some rooms have push button access, but many unfortunately do not. Find the locations of lifts and ramps using this interactive campus mapLink opens in a new window.
What toilet facilities are available in the buildings where the conference is taking place?
There are 79 toilets in the Faculty of Arts Building (FAB). There are 35 non-gendered super loos spread across the floors of the building from the ground floor to level 6. ('Super loos' are toilets with hand-washing facilities within the cubicle.) On the ground floor near the lecture theatres, there are two blocks of gendered toilets with separate handwashing facilities (10 female cubicles, 3 male cubicles and 4 urinals.) There are 19 non-gendered accessible toilets and 8 ambulant “super loos”, which are also spread across the building from the ground floor to level 6. Signage indicates the location of the toilets.
The Oculus has gendered toilet facilities.
Warwick Arts Centre has both gendered bathrooms and single cubicles available to all.
Accessible toilets are located in all three buildings. There are Changing Places toilets in both the FAB and the Warwick Arts Centre (more information here. These are accessed with a RADAR key. If you require access to Changing Places facilities and are not in possession of a RADAR key, please do let us know in advance).
Baby changing facilities are available in the Warwick Arts Centre (more info on accessibility in the WAC here).
Is there any provision for childcare during the conference?
We appreciate that conferencing and childcare don't always go well together. Although we can't offer any childcare, we're a child-friendly conference and will do our best to accommodate your needs. We hope that all delegates will respect that some others will need to bring children to parts of the event in order to be able to participate. Please do get in touch if you are concerned about childcare and wish to discuss your circumstances.
Is there anywhere to print during the conference?
There are limited printing facilities for conference delegates. If you speak to one of the Conference Assistants (Warwick Conferences Team), they may be able to help with printing, but it is not guaranteed. It may also be possible to ask to print at the Conference Reception in Senate House.
How do I use the technology in the seminar rooms and studios?
We have designed this tech guideLink opens in a new window to support Working Group convenors and panel chairs in using the technology in our spaces at Warwick. As well as talking you through how to use the tech, it also includes information on how to make your session hybrid for online participants and where you can go for help. This is the same document that was circulated to all Working Group convenors ahead of the conference.

I'm attending online. How do I join?
We are using Zoom to host online participation in the conference this year. If you have registered for online attendance, you should have received an email from Zoom to register your name. This link is also available in Sched. Following the completion of that short form, Zoom will have sent you the link to the meeting. This link provides access to the entire conference. When the conference starts, the various sessions will be streamed in breakout rooms. Each breakout room is named according to the physical room the session is taking place in. All the rooms for sessions are given in the programme - both online and in Sched. Navigating the virtual conference should be similar to participating in real life!
Does TaPRA have a dignity and respect policy and a process for reporting incidents that contravene this policy?
TaPRA does have a dignity and respect policy, which can be found hereLink opens in a new window. The policy also outlines what you should do should you want or need to report an incident where you feel that this has not been followed, before, during or after the conference.
