Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Warwick aims:
- To foster research that achieves the highest standards of international excellence.
- To nurture research innovation and excellence that encompasses multiple areas of critical investigation, research methods and forms of dissemination including written scholarship, performance, curating, community-based projects and technology enabled networks.
- To facilitate and promote dynamic interdisciplinary research that works at the intersection with other disciplines (including, but not limited to: politics, visual cultures, health, cultural geography, global development, memory studies).
- To develop research projects rooted in collaborations, networks and partnerships with regional, national and international universities, artists, playwrights, theatre-makers, theatres, schools, cultural organisations, museums and the heritage sector.
- To support research that responds to real-world challenges and delivers tangible impacts for creative practitioners, communities and organisations nationally and internationally.
- To play an active role in sustaining the discipline and promoting a positive research environment through active leadership and participation in national and international subject associations, editing, early career mentoring and postgraduate student development.
- To foster discipline-defining thinking by bringing together scholars, artists and industry practitioners for conferences, seminars and other events.
- To pursue research funding opportunities that enable research excellence, collaboration, impact and innovative outcomes.
- To create an effective and supportive research infrastructure that offers guidance and signposting to support mechanisms within the University and beyond.
