This seminar aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Azerbaijan's strategies for poverty reduction and regional development, with a particular emphasis on the energy transition. The session will explore renewable energy projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on Azerbaijan's reliance on hydropower. We will also discuss key initiatives by major companies such as Masdar (UAE) and ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia), highlighting their contributions to wind and solar energy projects in the region.
Recent geopolitical changes have created new opportunities for development, opening up possibilities for establishing net-zero, and ecologically friendly zones. The Karabakh region and surrounding areas are now being explored for their potential in solar and wind energy, as an example of greening initiatives undertaken by the country within the COP29 format.
