Impact
Warwick's Theatre and Performance Studies Department believes that research into theatre history and contemporary theatre and performance practice contributes important social and cultural insights for society. We conduct research in partnership with a very wide range of individuals, organizations and communities including playwrights, theatre companies and performance makers, national associations and with theatre audiences and members of the public in various contexts, settings and spaces. Our research has a track record of enhancing understanding of theatre as a vibrant part of cultural heritage, contributing to the development of cultural policy, facilitating the development of grassroots and community initiatives and brings fresh critical insight to a wide range of theatre and performance practices. We are committed to engaging diverse audiences and communicating our research in innovative ways to organizations and individuals nationally and internationally. All of our case studies submitted for REF 2014 were judged to have 'outstanding' or 'very considerable' impacts, in terms of their public reach and significance.
