Sleep, Health and Society

Sleep is essential for the repair of the mind and body, cognitive function, and general all-round health. However, for those afflicted by sleep disturbance, the effects of insomnia can be debilitating. Our Sleep, Health and Society project is exploring the implications of sleep disturbances on quantity and quality of sleep, daytime drowsiness, and how physical and mental health are affected, and the potential ramifications for society.

Digital Health and Mental Wellbeing

Digital Health is a cross-cutting theme covering diverse areas such as ageing society, youth mental health, sleep patterns, behavioural regulation and suicide prevention. At the Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing Research, our researchers explore topics such as developing, delivering and evaluating interventions, medical and societal ethical challenges and data protection and usage.
