Question 1 - Please introduce yourself and your role at Warwick Enterprise?

Richard Groves 0:07
Hi there, my name is Richard Groves, and I'm the Enterprise Pathway Manager at the University of Warwick. The Enterprise team are here for all students and graduates to help create and build opportunities for innovation entrepreneurship at the university, to help you develop your entrepreneurial skills, and to work with you to create and develop innovative ideas.

Question 2 - Can you give an overview of student programmes and activies?

Richard Groves 0:35
Well, first of all, we'd love to meet you. We are based in Junction which is building behind the new Faculty of Arts Building, and near Oculus. And we have space in Junction where you can come and meet the team. So we run a drop in session on a Tuesday lunchtime between 12 and 2pm, where you can come and find out more about what we do share an idea that you've got, we can give you some feedback and help you to develop an action plan. If you prefer, you could arrange a time that's more convenient for you. And we have one to one appointments available throughout the week where you can talk to either me or one of my team, again, about something you're working on or something where you'd like to share and get some support. There are a couple of programmes that we're delivering that I'd like to highlight in particular. First of all, we have the Warwick Enterprise Pathway Programme. That's a new six week programme, which takes you through the various stages from developing your idea all the way through to pitching it for funding. If you go through the pathway programme where there's over six weeks, then at the end of that programme, you could apply for the Lord Routes Fund. And the Lord Routes fund is there for all Warwick students who'd like to get a little bit of money to develop either a new startup, a community projects or campus based initiative, or just an interesting idea that you're working on. We also have a number of online programmes that you can look at including Startup Sherpas, which is a digital course where you can learn how to create a startup, Social Shifters, which is an online community of global changemakers, where you can learn, get inspired and help collaborate on other projects. We also have bite size content that we're developing on the website all the time to support you whatever stage you're at in your journey.

Question 3 - Can you tell us more about the Junction and what facilities there are there?

Richard Groves 2:26
So we're based in Junction alongside other parts of the Warwick Innovation District, we have The C limb, which is a multifunctional space. That's where we run our drop in sessions host our events and activities, and it's also where we can help host co working spaces startups. In addition to that, we also have some teaching rooms which were is where we deliver our workshop activity, but it's also available for student groups and student led initiatives if they want to come and find somewhere to work. The Junction is also home of the university's ESports centre.

Question 4 - Why should students get involved?

Richard Groves 3:02
at Warwick, we believe every student should get the opportunity to engage with innovation and enterprise education. It's part of the culture and values of the university to develop new ways of doing things and new initiatives and innovative ideas. But at Warwick Enterprise, we also think it's a great way of learning new things, developing the skills that you'd like to take forward out of university, as well as meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and all sorts of different departments that you may otherwise not get the opportunity to meet. Finally, I just encourage you to come and talk to us. Tell us what you're working on. Share your ideas, and we can do all we can to help and support you from there. So come and join us.
