Please note that all ESRC DTP students will have at least two supervisors and in order to be considered for ESRC DTP funding you must have identified two supervisors.

ESRC DTP Pathways offered at the University of Birmingham

Applied Linguistics

Structure of provision: Masters + PhD funding or PhD-only funding either full-time or part-time

Prospective students wishing to apply for funding under the Applied Linguistics pathway should submit an application for an English Language and Applied Linguistics PhD.

Area Studies

Prospective students wishing to apply for funding under the Area Studies pathway should submit an application for one of the following: African Studies PhD, International Development PhD, Political Science and International Studies PhD or Russian and East European Studies PhD depending on your area of research interests within Area Studies.
