Prospective students who wish to apply for MGS DTP funding from the University of Leicester should first apply to the University to study for a research degree by completing an online application for PhD admission.

Please note that all ESRC DTP students will have at least two supervisors and in order to be considered for ESRC DTP funding you must have identified two supervisors.

Completing an Application for an ESRC studentship

Once you have submitted your research degree application, please ensure you read the Guidance Notes for Midlands Graduate School ESRC DTP applicants before applying for DTP funding. These Guidance Notes contain detailed information regarding which structure of provision you should apply for.

The University of Leicester are holding an Application Writing Workshop for potential applicants to the MGS DTP Open Competition. The workshop is taking place on Thursday 17th November 2022, 10 - 11.30am, in Ken Edwards 526, and will also be accessible remotely. Prospective applicants can reserve a spot on the workshop via the Eventbrite page.

ESRC DTP Pathways offered at the University of Leicester

Communication & Media

Structure of provision: +3, +3.5, 1+3 either Full-time or Part-time

Prospective students wishing to apply for funding under the Communication & Media pathway should submit an application for a PhD in Media and Communication.
