Hakan Ferhatosmanoglu
Hakan Ferhatosmanoglu is a Professor and Deputy Head of Computer Science at the University of Warwick. He received PhD from University of California, Santa Barbara. He worked as a tenured faculty member at Ohio State U., Bilkent U; visited Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Informatics and MPI for Software Systems. His research is on building data management systems for scalable search and analytics. This involves management of information from multiple sources while protecting the privacy of individuals. His research has been supported by government agencies including the US Department of Energy and National Science Foundation, and companies including Pfizer and IBM. He has published in leading venues of data systems and analytics research and served in the technical committees of VLDB, KDD, SIGMOD, ICDE, ICDM, ECML/PKDD, CIKM, SIGIR. He received research career awards from the US Department of Energy, US National Science Foundation, and Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany.
