Theme 7: Public Health

The aim of the Public Health Theme is as a cross-cutting theme, weaving our work in with all the other ARC WM themes.

We are actively looking for collaboration with other themes and other researchers, and are particularly looking forward to working on the nationwide ARC cross-cutting themes on Inequalities, Population Health, Behavioural Science and Prevention.

Warwick Evidence

Warwick Evidence undertakes reviews and evidence synthesis on the clinical and cost-effectiveness of health care interventions for the NIHR Evidence Synthesis Programme on behalf of a range of policy makers, including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). It is one of nine Technology Assessment Report Teams in the UK.

The aim of Warwick Evidence is to support improvements in health, either directly by facilitating the prompt introduction of new treatments that are clinically effective and cost effective, or indirectly by inhibiting the introduction of new treatments that are not cost-effective, thereby enabling scarce funds to be spent more effectively.

Warwick Screening

Warwick Screening is a multidisciplinary team of researchers led by Dr Sian Taylor-Phillips. We specialise in evaluating health screening for a variety of conditions. Our work spans primary research, evidence review for national and international policy-makers, and specialist teaching.

Communicable Disease Control Evidence and Epidemiology (CDCE²)

Communicable Disease Control Evidence and Epidemiology (CDCE²) CDCE2 is a collaboration between the University of Warwick, Public Health England, and Health Education England (West Midlands) to undertake and facilitate others to undertake work to better define and disseminate the evidence base for communicable disease control.
