Open to all University of Warwick researchers looking to fund multidisciplinary initiatives relevant to the AMR challenge. Joint applications with other institutions are also encouraged.

Cross-Council Initiative to Tackle AMR

The Research Councils combined efforts in June 2014, organising AMR-related funding calls into 4 themes.

Responsive mode applications are welcomed:

Theme 1: Understanding resistant bacteria 
Theme 2: Accelerating therapeutic and diagnostics development 
Theme 3: Understanding the real world interactions 
Theme 4: Behaviour within and beyond the health care setting

Competitions
Longitude Prize - Antibiotics Challenge

The Longitude Prize is a five-year challenge with a £10 million prize fund. It will reward a competitor that can develop a transformative, accurate, affordable and rapid point–of–care diagnostic test that is easy to use, anywhere in the world and will conserve antibiotics for future generations.

The Discovery Awards programme, launched on 16th May 2016 and funded by GSK and BIRAC, are seed grants of up to £25,000 each to support existing teams to further develop ideas, and to encourage new innovators from a range of disciplines, sectors and countries to get involved.
