Erratum
| This is a list of errors and typos within the book. Hopefully many of these errors will be corrected in subsequent re-prints. Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Page 46, Equation (2.60) The two terms on the right hand side should be added together; the minus sign should be a plus sign:  Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Page 123, Equation (4.10) The last equation should either be the rate of change of the infectious population dIi /dt, or the equation for the force of infection associated with strain i can be written as seen in Program 4.2. The model assumes that λi = βIi, and that the parameter Ωijk in Gupta's 1998 paper is zero. Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Page 238 (Section 7.2) the expression for the force of infection in a metapopulation is incorrect -- we should be finding the weighted sum of the infection (Yj ) not the susceptibles (Xj). In addition, the demoninator should be Nj and not Ni . The full expression should be:  Chapter 8 |
