Projects
- Kingston University- Dissertation project (2015-2016)
The project aimed to validate a method for the analysis of malondialdehyde levels in various food products via the use of analytical techniques such as HPLC. In order to compare the effect of conventional and innovative refrigeration systems on the shelf life of various food products. - University of Warwick- MSc project (2017)
My thesis revolved around developing a fast, sensitive and inexpensive Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) method for the analysis of impurities in pharmaceutical excipients. Impurities such as formaldehyde can react with the API and degrade the prodrug. The project entailed the synthesis of nanoparticles, examination of HCHO and purpald reaction through SERS and UV-VIS.

Experience
- Brunel University, London- Summer placement (July to September 2015)
My placement at the National Centre for Sustainable Energy in Food chains (CSEF) centre at Brunel University aimed to examine and compare the effect of both conventional and innovative refrigeration systems on the shelf life of various food products. This was achieved via the analysis of lipid peroxides using different techniques such as HPLC.
