Past WUSAT Project Partners

The Warwick University Satellite (WUSAT) Team is proud to have been supported by the following organisations who have provided generous support and technical expertise at various times throughout the educational projects:

 RS logo
RS are a world-leading distributor of electronic components. With a range of 450,000 electronic components and industrial products RS supports over 1.6M customers worldwide. RS are generously providing the team with electronic components and other equipment.
Roke is the principal electronics research and development centre of Chemring Group Plc. Founded in 1956, Roke is one of the UK's leading suppliers of innovative solutions and contract R&D, pioneering developments in electronic sensors, networks and communications technology for Government, Defense and Commercial clients worldwide. Roke are supporting the team with assistance from their engineers and the concept/technology of the WUSAT-3 high-resolution direction-finding payload.

The WUSAT team are extremely grateful to the Andrew Little Fund for the generous contribution made to our WUSAT2 programme. This funding was instrumental in helping the team to develop the satellite through the rigorous review stages of the launch programme, and as a result the satellite was ready for delivery to the launch team(Bremen) in December 2014 with successful launch (Sweden) in March 2015.
 Eurocircuits Logo

Eurocircuits supplies PCBs of the highest standard and quality to customers around the globe. From one off prototypes to full mass production, their expertise and experience with complex precision multi layered PCBs in rigid, flexi or hybrid materials makes them an ideal partner for mission critical applications. Eurocircuits are generously manufacturing PCBs for the WUSAT project.

solidworks-new SolidWorks 3D design software can help you design better products faster. When you have an idea for a great product, you'll have the tools to design it in less time, and at lower cost. Solidworks are providing the WUSAT team with software licences and technical support.
Proctor Logo

The A. Proctor Group supplied 5mm Cyrogel for use in our WUSAT-2 CubeSat. Cyrogel was selected due to its low thermal conductivity which meant it would maintain an operating temperature inside the satellite of no colder than -40°C. WUSAT-2 was successfully launched 100km into space via a Rexus rocket from Sweden's Space Centre in March 2015.

The A. Proctor Group’s Spacetherm® Aerogel combines a silica aerogel with fibres to produce a flexible yet robust blanket solution. This superior material is affordable for a wide range of challenging applications where thermal performance is crucial.

Spacetherm can provide a number of different solutions - dependent on the application - due to its hydrophobic nature, flexibility and ease of use.

thales_logo Thales is the UK’s second largest defence electronics supplier. Every single day, organisations in all areas of government, defence, aerospace, banking, finance, energy and air travel are trusting Thales UK to deliver safety, security and seamless information management. Thales UK generously provided sponsorship in the early phase of the WUSAT-3 project.
ESATAN logo new ITP Engines UK is kindly sponsoring WUSAT with the software licences for the analysis and simulation software ESATAN-TMS.
National Instruments National Instruments transforms the way engineers and scientists around the world design, prototype, and deploy systems for test, control, and embedded design applications. Using NI open graphical programming software and modular hardware, customers at more than 30,000 companies annually simplify development, increase productivity, and dramatically reduce time to market. From testing next-generation gaming systems to creating breakthrough medical devices, NI customers continuously develop innovative technologies that impact millions of people. NI are kindly providing the team with training and support.
Harwin Logo

Harwin design and manufacture world-class electrical and electronic interconnect solutions. From standard and high-reliability connectors through to custom product, they deliver total interconnect solutions worldwide for product designers and OEMs. Harwin have kindly offered the provision of interconnectors for use on the WUSAT project. Harwin have also kindly sponsor our Team Day every year, an opportunity for all Partners to meet the students, see the progress made during the year and connect with each other.

Infineon Technologies offers a wide range of semiconductor solutions, microcontrollers, LED drivers, sensors and Automotive & Power Management ICs.

TAS Logo

Thales Alenia Space designs and builds high technology solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures. TAS kindly supported WUSAT in the early phase of the WUSAT-3 project.
