Showcasing our Partners- Smallpeice Trust
The Smallpeice Trust was set up over 50 years ago to give young people the support they need to bring their big ideas to life through science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). The Humanitarian Engineering Programme works with The Smallpeice Trust to help engage young people with the topic of Humanitarian Engineering and how engineering can change the world.
We think encouraging education and an early interest in thinking about our global community and the roles we can play is vitally important to make an impact. That is why this year we are joining with The Smallpeice Trust to host a residential course, 9th July – 12th July 2018, designed for girls in years 10 and 11.
The girls attending will find out how engineering can change the world. Engineering innovation impacts on critical situations and can help people to live safely and securely. This course provides a chance to find out what technology development can do, from earthquake resistant housing to drones delivering medicine, and will investigate how the engineering links with other disciplines to deliver benefit to those in most need.
Course proudly sponsored by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 and developed in conjunction with Dr. Georgia Kremmyda, Programme Director for the MSc Humanitarian Engineering.
