Biography

My Research

Verification and validation of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and Automated Driving Systems (ADS) at various stages of development is crucial as it ensures the safety and prevents potential failures. With the progression of graphic engines and simulation techniques, testing AVs in virtual environments can be more cost-effective than physical validation. Virtual validation accelerates evaluation time, provides further experimental control, and permits running safety-critical scenarios which are too dangerous for real-world tests.

Perception sensor models are among the important components of an automotive simulation framework. They capture the simulation environment for the vehicle, hence, play an important role in replaying realistic scenarios. In my PhD, I attempt to leverage modern modelling and evaluation techniques to develop faithful, efficient, and holistic perception sensor models, specifically camera and Lidar sensors.
