Biography
Yan is a PhD candidate supervised by Professor Mehrdad Dianati and Professor Paul Jennings.
Yan received a Bachelor degree in Automobile engineering from Jiangsu University, China, and a Mater of Science in Mechatronics/Advanced Mechanical Engineering Science from University of Southampton, UK.
Yan's research area is trajectory prediction and tactical decision-making in Autonomous driving.
My research
My research involves motion prediction and tactical decision-making.
Autonomous driving is a high dynamic and complex process. With the perceived information, autonomous vehicle needs to estimate other traffic participants future motion and make decisions. In order to perform safe driving, modeling interactions among traffic participants is necessary for decision-making. My project is focusing on developing interaction model among vehicles and tactical decision-making for ego-vehicle.
