Seventies
Glenn Coggins, BSc Mathematics 1978-1981
My years at Warwick affected the direction of my life tremendously - on a personal level I met my future wife Angela and I also became a Christian whilst at the University. After graduating, I worked in an insurance company, followed by nine years in the computing division of Barclays Bank. I left in 1993 to begin training for full time ministry in the Church of England at Durham University. This total change of vocation was not an overnight affair, but came after ten years of thought and discernment. In 1995, I took up the post of curate ('training on the job) for 3 ½ years in Warminster before spending 7 ½ years in the Fens in Cambridgeshire. I looked after three villages and a community hospital and gained a great deal of experience working alongside folk through the ups and downs of life (hatch, match and dispatch!).
