Infant Feeding/Relaxation Room

The Infant Feeding/Relaxation Room in the Zeeman Building is available to all University staff and students, as well as any visitors should they need it. The room was put together jointly by the departments of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.

The main purpose of the room is to allow people who need to feed their baby or express and store milk in a private, calm environment to do exactly that. However, the room is also available as a relaxation space to anyone who wants to take some time out of their office or shared space.

Inside you’ll find clean and comfortable seating, as well as power outlets to charge your devices, a fridge to store expressed milk and a baby changing table. We’ve also left a notebook in the room and would appreciate anyone using the space to take a few moments to write some feedback about using the room – this can be anonymous but will help us ensure that what we offer in the room is what those who are using it actually want and need.

The room is located at C0.15, on the ground floor of the Zeeman Building. Anyone unfamiliar with the location can find it on the interactive campus map. Bookings are made below in one-hour blocks, although you can book for longer than one hour if you need to.

The room has comfortable seating and a baby-changing table.

There is also a fridge for storing expressed milk.

Access

The Infant Feeding/Relaxation Room is accessible by a card access lock:

  • All staff in Maths, Computer Science, or Statistics automatically have access to the room.
  • Students and staff from other departments will be granted access to it upon booking the room.
  • Any external visitors who need to use the room should head to the Zeeman Building’s Mathematics Reception desk for help accessing the room.
  • Please note that any requests received on a Saturday or Sunday will not be processed until the next working day and so advanced booking is recommended.
