I now hold an unconditional offer for the MathSys programme, what are the next steps?

The Postgraduate Admissions Service will send you communications via email and you will be able to access the offer-holders portal for further information.

Please ensure that you also accept the CDT's Terms and Conditions before the deadline specified in your Welcome email.

Where can I find guidance on enrolment and practical information?

We would suggest you look at the University's Welcome pages in the first instance. Please note that the MathSys CDT Welcome Week programme, which will be emailed to you, takes precedence over the Welcome Week activities organised by the university.

When do I need to arrive at the University?

Your course start date is listed in your offer, and is usually the Monday of the week before the academic year commences - also known as 'Welcome Week' or 'week zero'. We schedule a week of welcome and induction activities including events and sessions such as the Director's Welcome, a series of Introduction to Computing sessions, and a chance to hear the graduating MSc students' MA931 Individual Research Project presentations.

Alongside events in MathSys, the university runs a selection of welcome events and you may wish to participate in these activities where they do not clash with MathSys activities. The full welcome week schedule will be emailed to you.

Where can I find guidance on academic preparation for the MSc in Mathematics of Systems?

You may already have looked at the course structure prior to applying and may wish to revisit these pages in advance of starting on the programme. On each of the module pages you can access the module resources such as the syllabus, reading lists, and notes. You may wish to look at these resources if you would like to do some reading in advance of starting on the course. You may also wish to read through our 'Academic Preparation' page.

In term two, you will take optional modules, but you do not need to make these choices until after arriving on campus, by which time you will have had the opportunity of discussions with the MSc Coordinator and your Personal Tutor. The availability of optional modules varies from year to year, so although the current listing of optional modules is a good indicator of the types of module available, many are run by other departments and we cannot guarantee that they will be available every year.
