Background (Academia)
MSc Mathematics of Real World Systems (Distinction) - Warwick University (2016-2017)
- Degree attained from the Centre for Complexity Science at Warwick University.
- Taught component focused on random processes, dynamical systems, numerical methods, computational methods, data mining and data analysis.
- Research projects included working on an 'Big Data' project with Thales and crowd simulation with Legion Ltd.
BSc Mathematics (1st Class) - Coventry University (2012-2016)
- Winner of Ede and Ravenscroft Prize 2014 and 2016 (Best undergraduate Student At The University Years 2 & 3)
- Degree focused on a range of topics in mathematics, with a strong component of applications into modelling, physics and computation
ERASMUS Study Abroad Year at Heidelberg University (2014-2015)
- Statistical Programming in R
- Differential Geometry of Curves and Regular Surfaces
- Cryptography
Background (Industry)
2 Month Internship Working With Transport for the West Midlands (February 2020 - March 2020)
- Worked on assessing statistical properties of bus journey times through the West Midlands.
- Developed a methodology to detect abnormal bus journey times across all routes.
3 Month Internship at Jagular Land Rover Research (March 2019 - June 2019)
- Worked in the prediction research team, considering problems in forecasting and planning relating to autonomous vehicles. Exact details under NDA.
3 Month Work Placement at Jaguar Land Rover Manufacturing (June 2015 - September 2015)
- Worked in the CME (Current Manufacturing Engineering) department, focusing on solving problems with production, as well as data collection and analysis to determine if changes made had resolved problems.
- Tasks were both 'hands on', for example collecting data from the production line for very specific problem investigations that did not have any past records, as well as analytical, for example by assessing the impact of changes and determining the causes of problems.
Past Projects
- Data-Driven Classification and Prediction of Motorway Congestion (June 2017 - September 2017)
- Worked with Thales to quantify the impact of variable speed limits on UK motorways. Analysed large sets of traffic data, using cloud computing architecture and databases. (MSc Project)
- Driven Granular Flows as a Model for Crowd Movement (March 2017 - June 2017)
- Worked with Legion Ltd, along with 3 MathSys MSc students with the goal of developing a model of crowd movement from a full or partial granular view (Warwick University Research Study Group)
- Gaussian Plume Model of Pollution in a City (March 2016 - June 2016)
- A project completed in my final year at Coventry University, determining pollution levels around a city. (Part of BSc Mathematics at Coventry University)
Extra Activities
- 'Introduction to GPUs Summer School' (Warwick University, July 2018)
- 'European Study Groups with Industry 130' (Warwick University, September 2017)
