About the Unit

The Research Technology Platform (RTP) in Advanced Bioimaging was set up in 2015. It supports the investigation of complex biological problems by researchers at Warwick and externally, through the application of cutting-edge imaging technologies. The RTP specialises in advanced light and electron microscopy with a focus on: cryo-electron microscopy for structural biology, dynamic 3D imaging using light sheet microscopy and correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM).

It was founded with the help of a BBSRC ALERT14 award (BB/M01228X/1) which enabled us to buy a new transmission electron microscope with direct electron detector and a light-sheet microscope.

Access to our equipment

For Warwick staff and students, please read more about using our equipment here.

For users from other universities, research institutes and industry, more information can be found here.

The Advanced Bioimaging RTP is housed in the School of Life Sciences Imaging Suite, on the University of Warwick's Gibbet Hill campus.

Our staff

Corinne Smith - Director
