Getting around in Coventry

Mobility as a international medical student can be challenging. Thankfully most placements can be reached with public transport

Travel from Airport to Coventry

BHX Coventry

By Rail

  1. After landing, make your way to the free Air-Rail Link, a monorail that connects the airport terminal to Birmingham International train station in about 2 minutes.
  2. You can purchase a ticket at the station from a machine. Prices start from around ยฃ3.30 or book an open ticket in advance for convenience (Trainline or Uber train).
    • Common stops are: Canley, Tile hill or Coventry (Main station)
  3. Train takes you to Coventry in about 15 - 20 minutes
  4. At Coventry, buses or taxis are available to take you to where you need to go

LHR Coventry

By Bus

  1. Depending on the terminal you are landing in, you can book a bus in advance that brings you directly to Coventry Pool Meadow bus station.
    • ๐Ÿ’ก Tip: All trains between terminal to terminal are free, Heathrow express, Elizabeth line, Piccadilly line. Use can use an Oyster card, contactless payment, or free inter-terminal transfer ticket at the station machine
  2. Book ticket in advance from the National Express Couch service
  3. The bus will take you directly to Coventry if your final destinations is Coventry Pool Meadow bus station
  4. At Coventry, buses or taxis are available to take you to where you need to go

Always check if placement is within the Bus zone and if you need the outer bus zone tickets before committing to the bus pass.
