NHS ePortfolio

NHS ePortfolio

The NHS ePortfolio is where you document your learning during your 3 Core Clinical Education (CCE) blocks.

In Phase 2, there are numerous supervised learning events (SLEs) such as bedside teaching, Objective Structured Long Examination Record  (OSLER). or Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise  (mini-CEX). You document your SLEs, your reflections, and your supervisor's feedback here too. SLEs are part of the engagement criteria, so they are mandatory. It's worth forming a regular habit with this, as documenting your learning and experiences is something we will do a lot during our training as doctors.

Your current e-Portfolio account will stay live for 7 years. You can also choose which pdf files to download, so you can keep all of your documents in a second place.

The best way to learn how to use the e-Portfolio is to just get started by going through the self-directed guide. The guide is structured as a series of tasks, and each of them helps you get to grips with different parts of the system.

Trusts in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland use our e-Portfolio, so you'll continue using it if your Foundation training is in any of these areas.

Recently, Health Education England decided to change their foundation e-Portfolio to a system called Horus. Unfortunately, there's no undergraduate equivalent of Horus.

How do I access my NHS ePortfolio?

Watch out for a short lecture by Louise Dunford (which will give you a live demo of what the e-Portfolio looks like and a self-directed guide to work through.

You will each receive an email titled 'e-Portfolio account information' to your Warwick email inbox: this contains your username and password.

If anyone struggles to find this email or has inadvertently deleted it, that is no problem! Just go to 'Task 1' on the self-directed guide, and follow the instructions for 'forgot password', using your Warwick email address.
