Summer Programme: Research and Communication

Warwick has established unique summer programmes that enable students and researchers to acquire new skills and knowledge that will help them to undertake university-level research.

 

Who are these programmes aimed at?

  • Students planning on undertaking research at high quality, research intensive universities, including the University of Warwick
  • Faculty from overseas universities who wish to improve their English language skills and research and communication skills during a summer programme in the UK

There are three options from which you may choose:

Option 1: Students who have not yet completed an undergraduate degree will register on the:

 Certificate: Summer Programme in Research and Culture

Option 2: Students who have or will have completed an undergraduate degree may prefer: 

 Postgraduate Award in Scientific Research and Communication (F1PF)

Option 3: Students planning to progress on to further research-based study may choose to continue F1PF into the:

 MSc in Scientific Research and Communication (F1PE)

These unique programmes will enable participants to :

  • Prepare to undertake high quality and demanding research in the world's best universities

  • Significantly improve their research skills by working within Warwick's Doctoral Training Centre MOAC (Molecular Organisation and Assembly in Cells)

  • Benefit from being mentored by highly qualified postdoctoral researchers or senior postgraduate researchers from the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine (option CH956)

  • Increase their knowledge of English culture and history
  • Enhance their English language ability and study skills specifically in the area of science and technology (option ET984)
  • Gain a qualification in Research and Communication from the University of Warwick

  • Those who take option 1 (the Certificate) or 2 (the Award) may like to progress onto the degree Masters in Scientific Research and Communication (option 3) upon completion. This MSc provides students with the ultimate preparation for specialised PhD programmes in science and medicine
