2009 MOAC Annual Conference
The MOAC 2009 annual conference was held between 27th and 30th May at the Langdale Youth Hostel in the Lake District. We will put some photos up soon, but in the mean time see here for some pictures of a previous MOAC event at the venue taken by Lahari.
We were particularly pleased to welcome Nicole White, a competition-winning PhD student from QUT, Australia who spoke about her work in statistical modelling of deep brain stimulation in patients with Alzheimers disease. We also heard a very interesting talk from Prof. Jeremy Lakey from Newcaste University who discussed his very varied multidisciplinary career in the broad biochemical fields.
Conference Schedule
The programme included student posters & presentations, external input, plus of course lunches and dinners organised by the students and walks in the beautiful Lake District.
The ‘topic’ was how to write research and other proposals and so was relevant for post docs and academics in our groups as well as for our student community. Our external speakers were Jeremy Lakey from Newcastle and Peter Olmsted from Leeds as well as Nicole White the QUT video competition winner.
The programme for the conference is included below for information.
