MOAC/ SB Seminar. Philip Arundel, Hon Prof, University of Warwick, School of Engineering. "Scientific explorers make discoveries while cautious sightseers don't"
'In this seminar I shall summarise a discovery and from personal experience how its progress and survival were handled. On the general theme of exploration; methods to stimulate thinking; how to look at a problem in a fresh way and anecdotes from the 'famous' will be included. The interfaces between the life sciences and engineering are amongst the most rewarding there are; however for cautious sightseers there will be a section on how discoveries can be avoided. For background work I would like you to consider; "When did you last make a discovery and what was it? Did you pass on the information?" '
