Dynamic Instability of Fluorescent Astral Microtubules in Living Schizosaccharomyces pombe Cells
Working with the Centre for Mechano Chemical Biology I looked at the growth dynamics of astral microtubules formed during anaphase in fission yeast. Although they are not yet fully understood, evidence that their function is to centralise and align the spindle with the long axis of the cell was observed.
