Science Communication Course - Imperial College London

As part of my ongoing training and professional development, I recently attended Impreial College London's Science Communiction Course. The week long program provides a balance of technical and theoretical training regarding public engagement for scientists engaged in research.

The course was led by Gareth Mitchel, Imperial College lecturer and presenter of BBC Radio 4 science program 'Click'. The course gave insight into professional media practice, while covering many aspects of the communication of science in public contexts. Special focus was given to the repersentation of science in the media and the role of science in general culture.

Workshops were held by Dr. Claire Ainsworth, freelance journalist and former Nature Magazine journalist, on 'Communicating with Non-Specialists' and Dr. Oscar Ces, on 'The Stakeholders in Science Communication'.
