Profile
Having taken an undergraduate Mathematics degree in the University of Warwick Mathematics Institute, I was excited to use and extend my knowledge of mathematics to solve biologically-motivated problems in a biologically relevant fashion. In my MSc year I investigated the impact of clustering on network-based approaches to early disease dynamics. Latterly, I investigated the role of local calcium events in a light-induced(?) global rise in calcium in cultured human uterine smooth muscle cells.
Research interest
I have commenced a PhD with Anatoly Shmygol and Yulia Timofeeva. I am investigating the role of calcium fluctuations in microdomain neighbourhoods of calcium receptors on the sarcoplasmic and endoplasmic reticulum.
