MSc
Mini-project 1
My first mini-project was supervised by Andrew Mead and involved fitting nonlinear curves to model genes' expression levels from time series microarray data. Poster
Mini-Project 2
The second mini-project was supervised by Claire Hill, and involved using yeast 1-hybrid assays to identify the regulators of Arabidopsis genes that are involved during Botrytis cinerea infection. Poster
PhD
My PhD project is titled "Quantitative Analysis of Time-Series Microarray Data to Predict Responses to Environmental Stresses in Arabidopsis", and supervised by Andrew Mead and Vicky Buchanan-Wollaston.
It is an extension of the first mini-project, and is involved in analysing data from the PRESTA project, by fitting parametric nonlinear curve shapes to the gene expression data.
By then applying a number of goodness-of-fit statistics, the best fitting shape can be found. Clustering on these parameters will potentially allow for the identification of genes that are involved in similar biological processes.
