I graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2002 with majors in Geography & Environmental Science and in Statistics. Following graduation, I worked in the insurance industry and dabled in actuarial studies!
The need for change brought me to the University of Warwick where I completed an MSc in Statistics (2009-2010). My interest in the study of biological phenomena developed and grew during this time. My MSc dissertation involved the analysis of proteomic data during and outside a migrane attack.
In 2010 I joined the Systems Biology Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) and completed two MSc mini-projects:
- Fast ODE parameter estimation using Gaussian processes
- Epigenetic reprogramming during phase change in plants
Following completion of the MSc, I began studying for a Systems Biology PhD, which I completed in 2015.
Currently.....
My PhD project is entitled, "A Rat Model Study of the Spatio-temporal Effects of Progesterone Signalling on the Transcriptome of Uterine Tissues During Pregnancy and Parturition."
My supervisors are Dr Andrew. M Blanks, who is in the Reproductive Health Division of the Warwick Medical School, and Dr Hugo. A van den Berg, who is based in MOAC & Systems Biology DTCs.
