Particle Systems

- Export as iCalendar

Particle systems can be used to model various irregular types of natural phenomena, such as fire, smoke, waterfalls, fog, grass, bubbles, and so on. In this workshop we will explore the basic principles and tools for simulating the motion of a particle and then look at doing this with lots of particles at the same time. This workshop will use object orientated programming and use p5js (a JavaScript library for creative coding, with a focus on making coding accessible and inclusive for artists, designers, educators, beginners, and anyone else!).

This can be run in schools if the school can provide devices with internet access to https://editor.p5js.org/.

This can be run in the department of Computer Science. For events on campus we will supply lunch and refreshments. This can also be combined with a campus tour and an academic lecture on Computer Science at University. To discuss this workshop, please email dcs-outreach@warwick.ac.uk.
