Text Generation with Markov Chains
Location: The Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick, CV4 7AL
In this workshop, students will work with text taken from sources such as Wikipedia articles, the words from novels, song lyrics, or a library of tweets to learn about Markov chains and how they can be used to generate original text that is in the same style as the input. We will be using Jupyter notebooks (an open-source web application that you can use to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations, and text) This will be run in the Department of Computer Science. For events on campus, we will supply lunch and refreshments. This can also be combined with a campus tour and an academic lecture on Computer Science at University.
