Reviewer Information

FSEM 2026 relies on volunteer reviewers to deliver a fair, constructive peer-review process for submitted short papers (2–4 pages). If you are willing to review, we would be pleased to add you to the reviewer pool.

Why review?

  • Support the Early Career Researcher community and help strengthen submitted work.

  • Gain formal evidence of reviewing activity.

  • Reviewer certificate: reviewers who complete their assigned reviews by the deadline will receive an official certificate confirming their contribution.

What we ask reviewers to do

For each assigned paper, reviewers provide:

  • An overall recommendation (accept / revisions / reject).
  • Brief scores against a small set of criteria (see below).
  • Constructive written feedback that helps authors improve clarity, rigour, and presentation.

Expected review criteria

  • Relevance to FSEM 2026 and its interdisciplinary audience

  • Technical quality and methodological soundness

  • Clarity of writing, figures, and structure

  • Contribution/insight (including novelty where appropriate

Reviewer conduct, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest

To protect authors and reviewers, we ask that you:

  • Treat all submissions and reviews as confidential. Do not share, circulate, or use unpublished content.
  • Declare and avoid conflicts of interest (COIs). A COI includes, for example: current/recent collaboration, same supervisory chain, close personal relationship, or any situation where impartiality could reasonably be questioned.
  • Provide feedback that is professional and evidence-based. Critique the work, not the author.
  • Avoid coercive or unnecessary citation requests (especially self-citation) unless clearly justified.

If you identify a conflict after assignment, you can decline the paper and we will reassign it.

Recognition and certificate

Reviewers who complete all assigned reviews on time will receive:

  • A Reviewer Certificate (named, dated, and signed by the conference organisers), indicating your contribution.
  • Optional acknowledgement on the conference website and proceedings book (opt-in).

Who can volunteer?

We welcome reviewers from University of Warwick, including:
