Education programmes at WMG offer not only academic excellence but also a business focus, for which we have become globally renowned. Masters Programmes
The Msc Service Management and Design programme is designed for those looking to work as a leader or manager in service-based industries. Students will learn the systems and techniques used to manage service industries and creation of value in the business across suppliers within the industry and within industry processes. Professional and Executive Programmes
WMG offers Professional Programmes are run on a part-time, modular basis, and are open to those with professional experience, not just those with a first degree. With our modular learning you can achieve a Postgraduate Certificate, a Postgraduate Diploma, or progress onto a Masters Degree (MSc). WMG has also introduced a new part-time MSc Service Management and Design for leaders and managers in service-based design. Doctoral Opportunities
PhD proposals
Candidates interested in doing their PhD with the Service Systems Group should have skill sets and research interests that are aligned to the group. They should be familiar with work in this area (please refer to our group Reading List) and will need to provide, in the first instance, the following:
- A research proposal that would advance the knowledge in ANY of the following areas: value, business models, economic models, service systems, service management/marketing, service-dominant logic, service design, service innovation and connected digital innovation (Internet-of-Things etc). The proposal should be novel and cutting edge and should incorporate a proposed methodology. It should be at least 3 pages long and well-argued based on existing literature. If your research is outside these areas, you will need to make a strong case as to why your proposal should be considered.
- A one-page cover letter introducing yourself and the skill sets you currently possess that would complement the team (e.g. being an advanced practitioner or entrepreneur, software development, mathematical algorithmic development, data analytics, ethnography)
- A CV and future career plans.

Please take note that all potential candidates will be required to undergo the University of Warwick's formal application process, and will need to meet WMG and university criteria for PhD candidature in order to be made an offer.
The Service Systems Group does NOT guarantee any funding for PhDs.
Also, the Service Systems Group would only be interested in candidates who wish to pursue and research academic career, albeit one that is rather entrepreneurial and working very closely with industry.
