Trade Policy in a Globalised World

June 8th and 9th 2012
Palazzo Pesaro-Papafava, Venice, Italy
Organisers: Dennis Novy (Warwick) and Emanuel Ornelas (LSE)

The workshop brought together eminent researchers from North America and Europe who work on trade policy, theoretically and empirically, broadly defined. PhD students from various European universities working on related topics also attended.

The conference is sponsored by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). CAGE is the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy, based at the University of Warwick. CEP is the Centre for Economic Performance, based at the London School of Economics. Both centres are funded by the ESRC

The event was held in the Palazzo Pesaro-Papafava, The University of Warwick in Venice. This 15th-century palazzo is situated in the heart of historic Venice, a few minutes’ walk from two of Venice’s most famous icons: the Rialto Bridge and the Ca’ d’Oro. Lying along the banks of the Canale della Misericordia, opposite the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, its balconies afford views towards the Canal Grande as well as to the Lagoon
