Location: Online. See event details.

Abstract

AI is a powerful form of technology which is increasingly being used by organisations across all sectors. At the same time, AI systems are becoming increasingly complex and are capable of causing harm, often in unforeseeable ways. This raises novel legal issues, particularly in a private law context, and tricky issues of attributing liability when AI does go wrong. This webinar will discuss the challenges that AI raises in this context, focusing on commercial/contractual issues (including the challenges of drafting primary obligations and protective contractual provisions to deal with the unique risks that AI creates). It will also address issues of liability in the context of AI and how this impacts upon commercial/contractual issues.

Minesh Tanna is a Solicitor Advocate and Global AI Lead at the law firm, Simmons & Simmons. He is also Chair of the Society for Computers and Law (SCL) AI Group.
