Law and Finance Working Group
The IEL Collective Law & Finance Working Group responds to the challenge of promoting advanced interdisciplinary understanding, policy intervention and teaching at the intersection of economics, finance and the law. It aims to provide a common forum for discussion and exchange of ideas among both academics and practitioners with various topics of expertise, yet a shared critical perspective of the role of law in finance, monetary policy, and financial regulation, among other related areas.
A crucial objective of the Working Group is to support the translation of critical research in the field to the general public, with a particular focus in influencing progressive policy-making either at national, regional or international levels. It also aims to build a collective database for the creation of syllabi in various topics of Law & Finance from heterodox, third-world, postcolonial, feminist, or other critical approaches.
The Law & Finance Working Group welcomes affiliations from academics at all stages of their careers, from early career to senior scholars. In addition to its main activities, the Working Group seeks to provide a space for mentoring, feedback and support for early career scholars affiliated to the IEL Collective researching on relevant topics of law and finance.
