How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

A Nudge in the Right Direction

The ESRC 2021 Festival of Social Science is an annual, UK-wide, free celebration of the social sciences.

The 2021 Festival will run 1-30 November, with a number of our events themed around social science and the environment, to reflect the COP26 climate change conference taking place 31 October-12 November.

Date: Wednesday 16 November, 6.00-7.00pm
Type: Hybrid: in person / online
Location: In person: Scarman (Space 42), University of Warwick

About the talk

Changes in behaviour are needed to tackle the climate emergency. Nudge theory believes that people make most of their decisions instinctively rather than through rational thoughts. How can your behaviour be influenced by subtle ‘nudges’?

Join Dr Lory Barile, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Warwick and guests for a discussion on Nudge Theory and how it can be used to influence individuals’ habits to help save the environment!

Speakers will include:

  • Dr Lorenzo Lotti, UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources
  • Arianna Buratto, PhD candidate, UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources
  • Dr Sophie Johnson, Deputy Chief Analyst at Westminster City Council
  • David Chapman, Sustainability Champion, Estates Department, University of Warwick
  • Bret Willers, Head of Service for Sustainability and Climate Change, Coventry City Council
