Fourth Annual GARNET conference

Some members of the CSGR team will be presenting at the Fourth Annual GARNET conference in Rome from November 11-13. The conference topic is  "Food Security and Sustainable Development: Challenges for the Governance of International Relations". It is hosted by the Research Centre for International Economics (CIDEI) of Sapienza University of Rome, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), and the World Food Programme (WFP). The GARNET Senior Scientist is Professor Richard Higgott and the GARNET programme manager is Eleni Tsingou, both within CSGR.

CSGR workshop with TFCTN, Singapore

On November 4 2009, the CSGR team engaged in a joint seminar with the RSIS Temasek Foundation Centre for Trade & Negotiations (TFCTN), Singapore, on issues of trade and finance in a post-crisis order. The workshop provided an afternoon for Leonard Seabrooke, Heribert Dieter and Eleni Tsingou to present findings from the Warwick Commission on International Financial Reform.

 The event also followed the launch of a new Double Masters Programme in International Studies. The programme will capitalise on the strengths of the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies at NTU and the Department of Politics and International Studies at Warwick.

Article from CSGR-sponsored project published on the Proc. of the Natl. Academy of Science of the USA (PNAS)

Elinor Ostrom, the 2009 Nobel Prize winner, has acted as editor for an article from the project "Globalization, Cooperation, and Trust: An International Experimental Investigation", which was co-ordinated by Gianluca Grimalda and co-sposored by the National Science Foundation and CSGR. The article has been published on the prestigious inter-disciplinary journal "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA".
