First FINDEM Project Workshop

At the workshop, participants examined the role of the middle class and the politics of financial citizenship and financialisation in the Global South. Themes explored ranged from the new connections between household debt, mortgage markets and changing patterns of urbanisation, to the financialisation of social policy and public goods provision, to mobile money and investment social networks.

FINDEM supports the relaunch of the Southeast Asia Social Policy Network!

The Southeast Asia Social Policy Network (SEASPN) brings together researchers, early career academics, and practitioners regarding welfare and policy in Southeast Asia, complementing FINDEM’s focus on financial democracy.
